Look. I'm not gonna piss in your pocket here. I'm not gifted at this shit, but my heart is probably in a good place.

I love sitting around playing the guitar and singing other people's songs. I recorded like a dozen songs at the beginning of the lockdown and I thought I was pretty, pretty good. After hearing the recorded files, it turns out I was pretty, pretty bad. It was cringingly horrendous and I hope those files never see the light of day

But in true Dunning-Kruger style my mother didn't raise no quitter, so I bought an old mechanical wooden metronome from Facebook marketplace to learn to play in time. Then I got singing lessons from the sister of the guy from Bodyjar who I never met but by strange turn of events briefly had an old Les Paul of his she had bought for his 21st birthday. I onsold it to this guy from Blister who wasn't using it so I retrieved it and got it back to her in exchange for singing lessons.

Yeah so if you think this is stuff is bad, compared to the original recording I did, this sounds like fucking Queen.

Anyways these songs were recorded for a three way split with the guy from the Blurters from Sydney and the guy from the Rats from Perth on the Innercity Uprising label. It'll come out one day.

These songs were recorded by the guy from Bloodduster in an old mushroom warehouse and I got a $180 parking fine because I double parked waiting for him because he was late. He turned up in a Lexus. Not gonna lie, I was pretty impressed. I thought he had really made it. Turns out his car died on the highway and he had to go and borrow his brother in law's car to get there.

We had to record over two sessions because he thought I only booked half a day originally because we were talking about it at an Extortion gig at the Tote, pretty drinky, late one night and I was probably more focused on the fact that he was gonna be doing a band with someone who had played in Girlschool before, and I was trying to talk my way into it.

This is the first time he has recorded a saw.
